□ EF-1 Alpha Promoter Vectors
Human elongation factor-1 alpha (EF-1 alpha) is a constitutive promoter of human origin that can be used to drive ectopic gene expression in various in vitro and in vivo contexts (1). EF-1 alpha is often useful in conditions where other promoters (such as CMV) have diminished activity or have been silenced (as in embryonic stem cells; 2). EF-1 alpha promoter vectors are available in multiple formats for either plasmid or lentiviral delivery:
● Fluorescent protein fusion vectors
● IRES vectors for coexpression of 2 genes
● Vectors with highly immunoreactive Myc- or HA-tags that can be used to confirm Matchmaker interactions in
mammalian cells
